Terceira: UNESCO Angra, volcanic caves and festas
Angra do Heroísmo is the jewel of Terceira: a perfectly preserved Renaissance city centre, a natural harbour framed by two headlands, castles and convents recounting centuries of Atlantic history. The city has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1983.
