UK DRIVING LICENSE
From 8th June 2015 the paper counterpart to the UK photocard driving license will not be longer valid and no longer issued by DVLA. The paper counterpart was introduced to display driving license details that could not be included on the photocard (address, vehicles categories the driver is entitled to drive and any endorsement/penalty points). The supplier of the car rental service need to be sure that the driver is entitled to drive. UK drivers can request a unique code from GOV.UK which will allow them to download a summary of the driving license records. The supplier will need to receive the print of that summary as evidence they can drive and they will keep a copy of it. Moreover, other than keeping a copy of the above described summary, the driver(s) will have to fill in a specific form.
If the customer does not provide all the requested details may turns in providers not being able to deliver the car.
