Driving in Malaga and Andalusia: practical tips
From Malaga Airport to the city center it takes only 15 minutes on the MA-21. The AP-7 (Mediterranean Motorway) connects the entire coast and is toll-free along the Andalusian stretch, unlike in Catalonia.
The A-92 motorway connects Malaga to Granada in an hour and a half through a spectacular hilly landscape. To reach Seville, the A-92 continues westwards (two and a half hours). Andalusia's inland roads are scenic but often winding, especially in the Serrania de Ronda area.
Parking in Andalusian cities can be difficult in the historic center: always look for underground parking lots marked with a blue «P». Fuel costs less than in Italy. Beware of the low traffic zones in the historic centers of Seville, Granada and Cordoba, reserved for residents.
