Alghero Fertilia Airport
Alghero Fertilia Airport was inaugurated as a military airport in 1938 and, during the Second World War, it was used and increased with a 700 m airstrip by the Italian army.
Since the early 1970s, it was definitely turned to a civil airport and extended. Until the early 2000s this airport was the most important seat of the school for Alitalia pilots.
Alghero Fertilia Airport, also known as Riviera del Corallo Airport, allows you to get to some Italian cities such as Milan and Pisa. It is 13 km far from Alghero city; the city centre is reachable by the road SS291 “della Nurra”, from where you can take the road SS127 bis.

Torre Sulis is placed in Piazza Sulis, the main centre of Alghero’s nightlife. Walking through the pedestrian area, you can get to Torre della Polveriera and to the Garita Reial (or Torre della Lanterna), on the opposite side.
To close the towers tour you can visit Torre di Sant’Elmo, also known as Torre de La Madonnina, because of the statue of the Virgin Mary on the top. At its feet you can admire the whole harbour and the crowdy promenade.
Lastly, in the old town you can visit the Cathedral of Santa Maria, built in the early 1500s according to the late Gothic style.
